Recognizing, understanding and fulfilling customer needs is fundamental to entrepreneurial success. Company founder Bruno Guntern was guided by this from an early stage. In the early 1990s, he spent several months in the USA as a salesman in a sports shop in San Francisco and was inspired by the trends across the ocean. He also kept a watchful eye on the ski slopes at nearby Lake Tahoe, where the enthusiastic skier spent his weekends in winter. Back in Switzerland, he took a job as a ski instructor in the Engadin. In the sophisticated mountains of St. Moritz, he noticed that, in contrast to the USA, there was a lack of affordable clothing for sporting activities in the cold season.

He filled this gap in the market in 1991 by founding the Swiss brand BELOWZERO. The high-quality technical clothing continues to delight recreational athletes to this day. With fresh designs and high-quality materials, the company appeals to people who are active and love the mountains, as well as all those who value high-quality work clothing in their everyday working life.

From the very beginning, BELOWZERO knew how to skilfully combine functionality with the latest trends without being too fast-moving. The versatile products with the revolutionary all-over prints and the special material mix have always characterized the brand.

With the Alps at its heart and decades of experience in the development and manufacture of outdoor and winter clothing, the company produces honest, contemporary products that are fun and pleasing.

The current BELOWZERO winter collection builds on this tradition, reviving the proven values ​​of durability paired with countless technical details. The company understands durability as the epitome of sustainability, with a careful approach to natural resources. All this without compromising functionality. Quality assurance has always been carried out directly at the production facilities over the years, while simultaneously ensuring fair working conditions.
